Breakfast at the hotel and then on the road to Nashville and two days with Heather!
Our first stop was the Blackstone Brewery in Nashville. Kira had gumbo again and this time it was spicier. I had an artichoke chicken soup. I know I know it’s hot why are we getting soup? Well, they sounded good and the AC made the place cool. :) I also had a pizza but did not care for the sauce.

Then we headed to Heather’s to drop off our stuff before heading down to Broadway. Of course it was rush hour and again we wondered why people live in these areas. Ugh! It took a long time but we finally made it. We struggled with the code box to get into her area because we couldn’t read what it said but finally we just followed someone else in and continued to do that for rest of the trip. :) Heather has a cute place and I can definitely see her mom’s influence on her style. (That’s a compliment.) After we unloaded we headed to Broadway to check it out and wait for Heather to get out of work. She gave us the tip to park at the library for the cheapest parking. We walked up and down the road. It’s like Varrick Street times 10 with live country music pouring out of each place. We stopped in a brewery but once we realized it was a chain we left and kept walking. I was sorry I didn’t bring my camera, but I took a few pictures with my iPad. Once we finished our walk there was Heather. We went into Tootsies. This is a famous place and where many stars get their start. We listened to the music downstairs for awhile and then headed up to the rooftop. It was cool how many places had rooftop bars/dining. While we were up there Heather pulled out a full page list of what we could do tomorrow. So many choices! She went over each one and how to group them together.

Once we were ready for dinner we headed to Whiskey Kitchen. It was a 45-60 minute wait but that’s typical for the area. We waited outside and then this time I was the one to suffer from dehydration. All of a sudden I was sweating profusely and feeling like I was going to blackout. Heather asked if I was ok and I replied I need water. She went and got me some and we moved inside and then I was fine. I had another green fried BLT, it was on a sourdough bread and was delicious as well. Their fried tomatoes aren’t as greasy as Duane’s. We’re going to have to work on that. Getting back to Heather’s was much quicker now that rush hour was over! We set up camp in Heather’s living room and slept well.
