Beautiful Start

As I walked out of the house a little after 5 to put a letter in the mailbox I was greeted with this beautiful sky.
Then as we headed east to Albany we watched Mother Nature put on a beautiful show between the sunrise and patches of low hanging fog.
It was hard to say goodbye to Gertie this morning, I told her I hope she'll hang in there three more weeks until we're home.
At the airport and ready to begin my journey to Seattle!

Almost Time!

My daughter will begin graduate school in January and she decided she wanted to travel the US before buckling down at PA school for 27 months. She has already begun her journey and has traveled with a friend from Utica, NY to Seattle, WA. They stopped at National Parks and breweries along the way.

Her friend will be starting a job in Seattle. So, I will be flying out there tomorrow to join her and begin a three week trip back home. We'll be following a winding path, visiting friends and family along the way.

I have to say that I'm thrilled that my 23 year old daughter wants to spend this time with me. We are fortunate that we are very close, we both like to hike, listen to country music, take pictures, read, eat healthy and check out new breweries! It should be fun time.

I'm starting this blog as a way of recording our trip on a daily basis so we don't forget the details and have a record of it. It's also a way I can share our trip with my non-Facebook friends.

Follow along if you'd like!

Here is the path we'll be taking.

I'm taking these and a few other shirts to support local businesses/organizations as we travel.
